Students FP mountain areas receive aid for displaced
Students of Vocational Training (VET) residing in the mountain counties as the Pyrenees will have from next course of specific economic aid to offset the effort being made to access some studies that are often far from their homes.
The counselor education, Ernest Maragall, has announced in the Catalan parliament that his department plans to open a new line of aid to facilitate the mobility of students FP, especially those in higher grades, since the supply of courses is not always forthcoming.
This line of aid, that may apply in principle students mountain counties regardless of family income, will be equipped with about 162,000 euros next year. Maragall has reminded that these subsidies are in addition to those that already exist to promote the study between classes most economically disadvantaged.
The objective of the aid that subsidize transportation costs and even changing residence on the occasion of the studies is to rebalance the current "imbalance between supply and demand" of the cycles of FP in a part of Catalan territory.
Maragall has recalled that the Government is implementing other initiatives to facilitate the study, such as scholarships for students studying and working FP, and distance learning.
