Remove ghettos forced to change his heart to 46% of immigrants from Primary
The Síndic Greg has denounced today that the administration is not used decisively to combat school segregation, a phenomenon already widespread in Catalonia and which oblige, to reverse the trend, a change of heart to 46% of foreign students from Primary and 35% of High School.
The Catalan ombudsman, who heads Rafael Ribó institution, has produced a monograph report on the creation of ghettos in schools that launches the alarm about the high level of segregation and demands immediate action on the redistribution of immigrant pupils to ensure equal opportunities.
Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona), Lleida, Barcelona, Cerdanyola del Vallès, Sant Vicenç dels Horts and Esplugues de Llobregat, all in Barcelona, top the list of municipalities with more segregation in primary school.
In Secondary, Barcelona appears first on the list, followed by municipalities in the metropolitan area as Barcelona Esplugues de Llobregat, Sant Feliu de Llobregat, Molins de Rei, Gavà, Sabadell and L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, in that order.
